Happy Mother’s Day!

May 11th, 2008

A big Happy Mother’s Day shout out to all of the mothers out there. MomWonder, KidWonder and I had a great Mother’s Day adventure today. We headed to a local entertainment complex where we stopped for lunch at Applebee’s:

Fully energized, the Wonder team headed to the Bowl-a-rama for a heated game of ten pin. Here MomWonder is engaging in the questionable practice of getting extra luck for an upcoming shot ;-) :

We ended our outing at the Pool room next to the bowling alley. Here KidWonder is showing us how easy a game of 8-ball can be:

Great fun was had by all. We’re now home, relaxing as KidWonder gets a nap. Happy Mother’s Day MomWonder. You have made such an impact on KidWonder’s life (and mine!) and we’ve had so much fun in the last 10 1/2 months together.

Baby’s First Christmas

December 26th, 2007

KidWonder had a great first Christmas, at home with MomWonder, his Grandma and I. He woke up around 7:30am, and devoured his morning bottle. He came downstairs and started to open presents from his stocking and from under the tree. By 9:30am he was all tuckered out :-) , and went down for a nap. By 11:30 he woke up from his nap, and opened some more presents. Here he is playing with one of his gifts, a neat set of bongos:

After a lunch break, KidWonder, MomWonder and I started a video chat with my family in Massachusetts. We opened our gifts and they opened theirs. Much fun and laughing was had by all… and I got a cool pair of moccasins. :-)

Being a Good Dad

December 20th, 2007

Another great post from BeAGoodDad today. I have had the same conversations, mostly with men, about Dad-type stuff. I work from home, and handle as much of the diaper changes, feedings, naptimes and early mornings as my schedule will allow. I find it to be a privilege, a great way of staying in the know about what KidWonder is up to these days.

I think any Dad who isn’t going through this (admittedly, its a hassle sometimes) isn’t building as strong a bond with his child as can be built.

Lazy Sunday with KidWonder

December 2nd, 2007

Dear Internet:

I’ve found the most enjoyable activity ever. Hanging out in the kitchen of the new digs, watching KidWonder learn to play with new toys, while MomWonder cooks an amazing Sunday brunch. Before anyone jumps on me, I do the trash, dishes, and cleanup. And lots of the eating. :-)

Here is KidWonder playing with a new toy, learning shapes and also picking his political affiliation (Today he’s a Democrat).

Oh, and we had our first snowfall of the season, and of KidWonder’s life. He touched snow for the first time. Reaction? Didn’t like it. :-)

Sincerely,
Dad
