Just finished watching Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, Act III. This is the final Act in the production. Act III was OK, more singing than the previous two, and wraps up the plot. I’d rather not spoil anything for folks who haven’t seen this, just to say that I have heard that the episodes are being taken down today (July 20th). So run over to drhorrible.com and check it out!
I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 Acts. Act II was my favorite. By buying the iTunes “Season Pass” for the series, I was e-mailed when each part came available, and the episode downloaded automatically into iTunes when I started the app.
For all of you cheapskates out there who aren’t real fans of internet video, you can watch it via stream. Act II is hilarious, and I’ll spare you all the best joke, about the Hammer.
For all those who don’t know about Dr. Horrible, it is a Joss Whedon (of Buffy fame) creation, starring Neal Patrick Harris. You can read the master plan if you want more info.
Really guys, support these innovators by buying the episodes. The production is great, the video quality is great, and it is hilarious. Well worth $1.99 an episode (or $3.99 for all 3 episodes). Also, if you want to catch these, you need to tune in now. I hear that these episodes are going to be taken down on July 20th.
I’ll get back to my experiences from this year’s SXSW Interactive Festival later, but for now: My engineering team was working hard during the festival, and at one random point, Derek was taking pictures and took this one:
Take a look at how it compares to another famous picture:
The similarities were so weird that we agreed not to talk about them until people were home safe. I’m not sure what these similarities mean…
Amusing story in today’s NYTimes about British commoners being asked to describe “what it means to be British”. Included in the article are the results of a motto-writing contest run by the Times of London. The title of this post was the winner, written by a 25-year old named David Bishop. Other mottos with a British ring to them:
“Once Mighty Empire, Slightly Used”
“At Least We’re Not French”
“We Apologize for the Inconvenience”
The British House of Lords suggested use of their own: “Questions and answers ought to be short”
KidWonder took over playing XBox for Dad this afternoon. His comment after the game is “Meh”, roughly translated as, Dad, this is in no way as cool as the Wii downstairs with Super Mario Galaxy!
He is maddeningly adept at unpausing my game of Topspin and immediately losing points. Grrr.
Here is an action shot:
Here is KidWonder’s description of his play after the game (in his own typing):

Pretty sweet. Did you notice the micro symbol amongst the letters? He is a math genius.
