MomWonder and I just returned from 5 days in Dulles, Virginia. It was KidWonder’s first plane ride, first hotel stay, well, first lots-of-things. He did excellently, as we had hoped. We started off in a tiny SAAB 340 Turboprop (~30 seats), tiny enough for the flight attendant to reseat everyone towards the back to make sure the weight was evenly distributed. KidWonder was very well behaved. Here he is in the tram after the flight, headed to Dulles International’s main terminal:

We then checked into the North Loudoun Embassy Suites hotel. Here is KidWonder, hanging out in the living room area:

Dad had to attend classes for work on Thursday and Friday (no pictures, none needed, trust me) :-).

On Saturday, we had a day out, visiting MomWonder’s cousin and aunt in Washington, DC, and Dad’s sister and girlfriend in Arlington, VA. A tiny rant here, Google maps did us no service. What do you make of the following direction:

Make U-Turn - 1.5 mi

Is that a U-Turn that is 1.5 mi in diameter?

Anyhow, all relatives were happy to see the Kid. Here is KidWonder w/ Mom’s aunt (cousin in background), followed by KidWonder with Dad’s sister:

On Sunday, while waiting for our flight back to Westchester, we stopped by the new wing of the Air & Space Museum, which is right by Dulles International Airport. KidWonder slept through the entire visit :), but we did get a few nice pics. All in all, KidWonder was very well behaved. Dad was a nervous wreck. But we all got home in one piece.
