So stopped by Circuit City last night and picked up a sound card for the Dell PowerEdge, trying oh so hard to convert a rackable server into a home desktop running Vista. :) Man, those shelves just look and feel dusty. I was walking around the Computer aisles, and saw they were selling a Diamond SupraMax 56K modem. I bought that same modem, only about 8 years ago!

As far as the computer equipment goes, it feels all old. I don’t see how they can compete in selling computers / computer equipment. I did manage to get the one busy employee who knew where the sound cards were. So big ups to Tom, from Circuit City on Union Square South in NYC. You were the reason I bought a sound card yesterday.

Shay could say better how the sound is, we test drove it last night with her playing WoW on the Vista machine. The sound card is a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio. I am a sucker for names I know, and Sound Blaster is an old name in sound cards.

And for the record, PCI cards fit just fine in PCI-X slots. Thanks Wikipedia!
