Which just happens to be the first rainy day since I got here. So today was laundry day, pretty quiet in the morning.
In the afternoon we went to Leicester Square and visited the National Gallery, which was nice. We saw 2 of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (sadly only Rafael and Leonardo). We saw Trafalgar Square, the real one this time, as apparently what I thought was Trafalgar Square the other day wasn’t. This one was, and it had a bunch of Wimbledon booths set up to test your serve, and a big screen TV showing matches.
Then we popped into the local cinema in the evening to get out of the rain and saw Kung Fu Hustle, which was pretty funny.
Unfortunately, with every trip you can’t do everything, either because you can’t afford it, or you just aren’t there at the right time. We’re not going to be able to go to Lord’s Cricket Ground to see a cricket match, as there isn’t another one being played before we leave. There was a match on Wednesday, but that was Wimbledon day plus the internet scalpers (read: eBay) wanted upwards of 400£ a seat. Wow.
We’re also sadly missing Invasion V, the annual Doctor Who fan festival. Peter Davidson and Royce Mills (Dalek Voice) are going to be there. Honestly, I didn’t know that Dr. Who fandom had reached Star Trek levels, but I was just in the wrong country I guess.
That’s it from rainy London. Thanks to all who have followed along so far, we’ve got a week left.
