Super Tourist!
Another day of seeing the sights of Paris.
Museé du Picasso was first, apparently the Picasso family paid for the inheritance tax after his death in art, and this is the result of that. The cubist pieces are my favorite.
Then to the Place des Vosges, which is a really nice place to sit down and read a book. The pigeons are especially fierce, though.
Then to Place de la Bastille, which doesn’t have really any remnants of the prison since it was torn down. There is the monument, which was built afterwards.
Then lunch.
Then to the Jardin des Plants (Botanical Gardens) which are also really nice. I got some pictures of it.
Then to the Museum of Natural History (pretty cool, lots of old bones), which is inside the Jardin des Plants.
Then to la Mosque de Paris, which was nice (albeit undergoing renovations).
All that with some more wandering through the Paris metro, made me reinstitute the siesta.
The plan for tonight is to visit Au Duc des Lombards, Paris’ best jazz club. We’ll see how it goes, I’m looking forward to it.
You can’t see all the sights of Paris in the time I have, but I’m giving it the old college try. Its been fun.
