Arc D’Triomphe

So I visited the Island in the middle of the city yesterday, and Notre Dame. The cathedral is beautiful (and enormous - seats 10,000 people), and I walked up the steps to the top of the tower.

I have to say it again - the food here is amazing. I stopped in at a bar yesterday and figured to have a sandwich for dinner, and they had goat cheese salad and ostrich on the menu, which I ordered, and it was magnificent. I mean, really really good. And this is a regular bar, with like 4-6 tables. Crazy.

Today I switched hotels to Hotel Vivienne at 40, R. de Vivienne.

Then I walked a mini-marathon of sorts, from the hotel to the Louvre, through the Tulip Garden, down the Champs-Elysses, to the Arc of Triumphe (and up and down the steps), to the Eiffel Tower (and up and down the elevator), to the Champs of Mars, back to the Tulip Garden, back to the Louvre. Total time elapsed: 4 hours, the grand majority walking time.

And after seeing all those sights, my overall opinion on them is: I am through with old, high buildings that have no elevators.

Not sure about my night plans yet. Until the next time, same bat channel.
