Hiya from Dublin, day 5. Today has been a good day so far, I had the full Irish breakfast at the new hotel and it did (finally) include the black and white pudding. I ate the white, haven’t worked up the courage/stupidity to eat the black pudding. For the record, I asked the waitress what was in the white or black pudding, and she had no idea. It does look pretty mysterious, I must say. I mean check out the recipe:
Sounds tasty, doesn’t it?
I visited The Old Jameson Distillery, the tour was nice. Its always nice when you are expected to sample the whiskey at 11am!
I then took the DART train (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) to Malahide, north of Dublin, and went to Malahide Castle and the Botanical Gardens that are on the castle grounds. The castle grounds are just awesome, I can’t describe how nice it looks.
So… I just got back from Malahide and got my first set of Dublin pictures developed. I’m no Ansel Adams, but they came out OK.
And since all work and no play makes Tom a dull boy, I’m doing to take a nap so that I can keep up with the kids tonight, as it is Friday night, of course.
Wish you were all here.
Tom
P.S. I just needed to mention that these Irish people use the word “Cheers” too much. I mean, I think its kinda funny when they say “brilliant” or “grand”, but “cheers” is overused. I love it when I buy a bottle of water, it costs 1.5€, and I give exact change (not too tough), I get a “that’s brilliant, cheers”. Not too shabby, I guess. I guess I never thought of it that way.
