Hello again, or as I keep hearing, hiya!

Today was less busy than most days… I scored a theater ticket for Monday night for the show Lady Windermere’s Fan, an Oscar Wilde comedy. The show was sold out today through the weekend, but I was luckily able to get the seat for Monday. Will give a full review after the show.

I moved hotels midday, so I am now at the Drury Court Hotel. I spent a good 2 hours trying to get someone to come up and fix the central air in the room, only to have the manager come upstairs and inform me that it was central heat, not central air. I said, “I guess I’ll just leave the window open to cool the room down”, and he says “Yeah, that’s Irish air conditioning!”

Anyhow, I love the new hotel, although its more expensive its twice the hotel as the last one. I wouldn’t have moved, except the old hotel didn’t have availability over the weekend.

Incidentally, I passed the cook in the hallway of the old building and said, friends of mine want to know why we don’t get the blood pudding as part of the “full” Irish breakfast. She said curtly, “We don’t do that here. Some places do, we just don’t.” Mysterious…

I sent out 3 postcards today. Mom & Dad’s and Katrina’s are good. Danielle’s is great. Sorry Mom Dad and Katrina, I saw D’s card and it called out to me. Don’t worry, you’ll like your cards. :)

I saw Dublin Castle today and also a great exhibit at the Chester Beatty library which is on the castle grounds (http://www.cbl.ie/perm_exhib). Pretty cool, eh?

I also played snooker with real snooker equipment today. Most pool halls here play a modified version of 8-ball, using snooker-equipment proportions. The real snooker table is 6 x 12, monster in size, and the balls are smaller than pool balls. It is a cruel, cruel game and it mocks me.

I’m signing off, as I got a ticket to see Sin City at the local movie theater.
